ScanSnap: More Than a Scanner, a Game-Changer


ScanSnap is a high tech B2B/B2C scanner brand that helps it’s users “work smarter, not harder”. As the lead Art Director, I worked with my copywriting counterpart to come up with our new social tone, voice and visual updates for our clients at HHKB. After digesting the clients key pain points from the previous creative, we worked together to form the new social brand.

ScanSnap’s new social strategy revolved around inspiring our audience to evolve their daily routines through how-tos, advice and lighthearted content that makes you want to get scanning. I pulled together a mood board that was light, friendly and had pops of color. I added buttons and UI elements, to represent the tech-forward product. The team also needed to keep in mind that the majority of our photos would be stock, so this new brand had to look cohesive without new photography.

With the mood board we presented typography and color palette, explaining how each would work within our new design system. Our hero font would be a friendly, but professional serif and paired with “ole-reliable” Gotham. The color palette echoed the sentiments of the typography, picking some soft tones that combined nicely with their hero blue.

Then we started bringing it all to life.
